Switching is a bit odd. In our case, my host either takes a backseat as in like, becomes the "tulpa" to an extent as I pretty much control the body, thoughts, everything. He can spend time in the wonderland with my sister but this hasn't been the case all too much lately. Symbolism won't do that suddenly of course, but it can be used to assist achieving said method as long as it's understood of what it fully is. Despite that, we go into full circle - As Luna said, there really isn't a consensus about what switching is 100%, as I've heard many different things in regards to it. Some people seem to get possession confused with switching.

Perhaps the best way to describe switching is advanced disassociation, somewhat.(edited)
I just wish someone could actually explain the method for someone to switch out that doesn't include symbolism, but so far everyone I've asked just can't.
I think the significant difference between possession and switching is host being dormant in the latter. Possession is like fronting as 2 identities, switching is like fronting while being a tulpa
I feel like if we just made one small breakthrough then we'd be able to reach our goal, so far though my host hasn't really budged despite everyone's best efforts
It's still her. She's free to do whatever she likes, and she interacts with Blair, even if we're the ones fronting. She doesn't go away, she can just be suppressed if we focus on fronting enough
All we have to go off of are our own experiences and the experiences of others. Plenty of people have claimed their hosts go inactive in that way, and us tulpas go inactive like that, so it's what we're aiming for. I don't want to move the goalpost because others disagree that it's like that

it's just going to be your word against theirs in the long run
Then you've essentially switched, but don't understand or believe that you switched, because you believe that what's left experiencing the body is still her. And because you believe it so, it is so.
She used to try to pull away more sometimes, and that would cause us to completely freeze up. But I'm thinking now that more time has passed and we've had a lot more experience fronting, it should be easier for her to switch out fully once we figure out how
10:47 PM
we've had moments where she felt faint, but not enough to say she was inactive
soon enough we'll be going to college and will have more things to do, so I feel that will provide us with more opportunity to front strongly, rather than just sitting around all day
It's hard not have the climate change stuff get to ya(not that I feel they are wrong), the whole death spiral that they say could happen is what gets me.
2:28 AM
I guess it just gets worse when I'm trying to get into my own head for forcing then I get in a spiral myself thinking about it and trying to figure out something to do about it or at least prep
I find it best to focus only on those things which we can control.
2:35 AM
For example, do whatever is in your power to reduce your own footprint. Otherwise, hope that those brilliant minds of our generation can find a way to begin scrubbing the atmosphere.
2:36 AM
Do what you can to be productive to society, and let time play out as it will.
I can understand that and for the most part that's how I normally do things, I have gotten better I have at least once fell asleep teary eyed worried about one of those gamma pulses from a quasar or something but that was back when I was like 13
Ah, besides; it's not so much that you should be introspecting. Forcing is a time to focus on your tulpa. Give your attention to them, just like you would a friend or family member if you were spending time with them in real life.(edited)

Surely you aren't discussing your fears of potential doomsday scenarios with Hanna?
It's not so much introspection just trying to get away from the outside world, I do talk to Hanna about pretty much everything that crosses my mind normally and as this is my current focus and might be for some time it's what I talk about the hardest part is stopping and trying to hear Hanna when passive forcing throughout the day.
question for tulpas: while living in your host's head, do you see out of your own eyes what your host sees in their mind's eye, or do you see out of your host's eyes?
